Usage Based Insurance (UBI), Full Hybrid Insurance (FHI) and PHEV insurances are connected car insurance products offered by Lexus Insurance Services.

Lexus Insurance Services’ connected insurances are innovative services linked to the connectivity of the car, where insurance premiums are based on real-time driving data generated by drivers.

  • Usage Based Insurance gives continuous feedback on the driver’s individual driving behaviour, based on 4 criteria (braking, accelerating, cornering, speeding).
  • Full Hybrid Insurance is specifically tailored towards Hybrid drivers, rewarding safe driving in EV (Electric Vehicle) Mode.
  • PHEV connected insurance is geared towards Plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) drivers, rewarding them for making the best use of their PHEV vehicle by motivating frequent charging to maximize their electric kilometres driven.

When registering for a connected insurance service, be mindful that UBI, FHI or PHEV insurances are distinct products from Lexus Link+ app. Connected insurance service subscription is only possible by a selected insurance provider, through Lexus Insurance Services intermediary, and it may be subject to specific terms and conditions, accepted at the time of subscription.

When you sign up for a UBI, FHI or PHEV contract, the necessary driving data is transmitted to the insurer, who will act as the data controller, to fulfil the contract.

By signing up for a UBI, FHI or PHEV insurance contract, the connected insurance service is linked to Lexus Link+ app. As a result, you will be able to keep track of your trips analysis, your individual driving score, or your EV share.

The insurance score visualization feature is an independent feature that is entirely optional and can be enjoyed without the use of Lexus Link+ app or a Lexus Link+ account. You can freely opt in or out of this insurance score visualization feature, at any moment, on the Lexus Link+ app and doing so would not affect your driving score and insurance contract.
