HOW MUCH DOES ELECTRIC CHARGING COST?

Lexus has developed fast and powerful electric charging solutions for both your home and on the go.

Home charging, especially overnight, is significantly more cost-efficient than charging throughout the day, with most providers offering lower tariffs at night. Across Europe, the Lexus Charging Network subscription allows more affordable charging when travelling. What’s more, it’s free for up to six months for Lexus EVs and for one month for Lexus Plug-in Hybrids.

When it comes to the long term cost benefits of electric driving, these lie in much lower maintenance costs and component wear compared to conventional combustion engines. Electricity costs are lower and more stable in the long run.

When fully charging your Lexus EV battery at home, it typically takes 4-8 hours using 7kW chargers but this varies between vehicles and charger models. And remember, overnight charging is more convenient and also maximises efficiency when electricity demand and prices are lower.

With the advancement of Lexus Electrified technology, drivers can expect to fully charge their batteries in 3-4 hours at most of our 520,000+ EU public charge points. You can fast-charge a Lexus EV from 0 to 80% in little more than 30 minutes, whilst benefitting from excellent battery efficiency and savings.

A conventional wall plug can be used when charging at home, but installing a smart, compact wallbox is recommended to maximise efficiency and ease. Lexus offers a 22 kW connected wallbox fit with a Type 2 charging socket. A smart charging solution for home and semi-public applications featuring LAN, WiFi and optional LTE, the integrated RFID module ensures fast and secure access. What’s more, many countries offer grants of up to 75% off the upfront cost of a home charger.

For charging on the go, your Lexus comes with a 5m or 7.5m cable to access charge points without cables. For seamless driving, Lexus Charging Network gives Lexus Electrified drivers access to 520,000+ EU public charging points as well as all-electric and plug-in hybrid discounts.

For complete peace of mind when installing your home charger, Lexus will happily organise a trusted electrical engineering partner to carry out the work. This will ensure the wiring of the charging unit meets and exceeds your required national standard.

 

CHARGING FAQS

Yes, you can. By installing a dedicated home charger, you’re able to charge your vehicle from the comfort of your own home.

If you don’t have a dedicated home charging point, you can charge your electric vehicle using a regular plug socket. However, this charging method is much slower and much less efficient.

Whilst out on the road in your electric vehicle, you can access multiple public charging stations when needed. We recommend always having a charging cable to hand for stations without them.

 

Found in the Lexus Link app, our Lexus Public Charging Network identifies over 150,000 public charging points across Europe, making it easy to find one nearby.

Leaving your electric or hybrid vehicle to charge overnight is perfectly fine. Plus, charging overnight is more cost-efficient, as some providers offer lower tariffs during this time.

You can drive and own an electric vehicle without a home charging point, as there are public charging points available for you to use.
